Irma Boom
Dutch graphic designer, Irma Boom, is famous for her bookmaking. She attended “the AKI School of Fine Art in Enschede (where she earned her B.F.A.) and later worked at the Dutch Government Publishing and Printing Office in The Hague for five years before she founded her own firm, Irma Boom Office, in Amsterdam in 1991” (collection.cooperhewitt.org,1). She has designed more than 300 books and is currently the senior critic in graphic design at Yale University. She is even a recipient of the Gutenberg Prize, which praises work that has aided in the advancement of book artwork.
