Chip Kidd
The graphic
designer that I have chosen today is Chip Kidd. Chip Kidd is an American
graphic designer who was born in Pennsylvania in 1964. Chip Kidd has become one
of the most famous book cover designers known to us by now. Chip grew up
interested and influenced by American popular culture, and comic books was his
beginning into the graphic design world. Chip went on to attend and graduate
from Pennsylvania State University, and he received a Bachelors in graphic
design. In Chips career he has been a graphic designer, book designer, editor,
author, lecturer, and a musician. One thing you will notice about him is that
he never uses the same signature he claims that a single signature looks stale.
Chip is currently associate art director at Knopf which is an imprint of Random
House. He started there as a junior assistant and worked his way up. His first
novel was called “The Cheese Monkeys”. This was a satire about college art
students who struggle to meet the demands of an evil graphic design instructor.
This went on to be very well received and people loved it.

Chip Kidd was among the first to break with the Swiss Design orthodoxy and search for new expressions in design.
