  2. Okay... there are a few issues that should be addressed to improve the outcome of this project.Starting with the back, it is important to get the dimensions right as this print must fit into the standard jewel case. the link for the dimensions are linked form the syllabus... Here it is again... http://www.newenglandcd.com/downloads/cd-jewel-tray.htm

-Notice that it is a rectangle. Start with a blank new canvas that is 5.906" wide X 4.625" tall...

-Legibility is one of the most important attributes that the graphic designer must design for. The large number of tracks along with the size of the font takes up a large portion of a very busy background image. I see you outlined the type in red, but that wasn't enough. Take a look to see how the designer for Parlophone approached the problem by creating a separating black layer to set the type on, as well as using a smaller font size. Take a look here: https://www.google.com/search?q=gorillaz+humanz+back+of+cd&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwiGvePX9_vnAhUCO98KHX52AnoQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=gorillaz+humanz+back+of+cd&gs_l=img.3...606195.610056..610403...0.0..0.80.799.11......0....1..gws-wiz-img.......0j0i67j0i8i30j0i24.wmTMzagAi6Q&ei=UQ9dXsbQDIL2_Ab-7InQBw&authuser=0&bih=937&biw=1920&hl=en#imgrc=7Ux1NIc2nMGCjM

-I'm wondering why the left hand flap has the type set backwards? (flipped horizontally) It needs to be reflected in a mirror to be read properly.

-The legal language should be "reset" using your own type. The image you used had a resolution that was too small for the project.

-Keep the font size consistent for disc 1 and disc 2

-Adjust the black level of the background image using the black slider in Photoshop. Image>adjustment>levels.

    Front of CD:

    -The size is correct... good.

-HUMANZ gets a bit buried and looses legibility again.

-Same issue with the type. Make it smaller, keep disc 1 and 2 the same, set it off with a black layer

-Consider where the fold is... it looks like some of the type from disc 2 will appear on the front.

When all of the issues are worked out, you will know much more about the art of graphic design. The designer, like an architect, creates a space that is functional, elegant and satisfies the needs of the client.

    :)
