Storm Thorgerson
Storm Thorgerson is a British graphic designer whom many say was part of the Surrealism movement. He worked with album covers, book covers, posters, graphics, logos, and music videos. Storm graduated from Leicester with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and English and later graduated from the Royal College of Art with a Master's degree in Television and Film Production. "One of his first major works was the cover of Pink Floyd's A Saucerful of Secrets album. Thorgerson created a lively collage featuring comic book pages and swirling planetary systems. He went on to design most of the album covers for the band" (artnet.com,2). His album cover designs were well-liked; Storm designed various album covers for bands such as Styx, Genesis, Ween, and more. His Master's degree allowed Storm to create music videos as well. His most recent work as a director can be seen in Pink Floyd's High Hopes. Not only has he worked with graphic design, but he has also written a few books about cover art for albums! Storm Thorgerson was truly a man of many talents.
