Jessica Walsh
"Jessica Walsh is a 33-year-old, American graphic designer, art director and illustrator, and founder of Creative Agency and Walsh" (peoplepill.com,1). She was born on October 30, 1986, in New York, but raised in Connecticut. As a young girl, Walsh became interested in website design and coding, and as a result of her interest, she later decided to pursue a degree in graphic design at the Rhode Island School of Design. Post-graduation, Walsh was lucky enough to intern at a design firm known as Pentagram, and learn the tricks of the trade with her mentor, Paula Scher. After a year of interning with Pentagram, Walsh found work at Print Magazine. As the associate art director, she "had design work and illustrations featured in various books, magazines, newspapers (including the New York Times and New York Times Magazine)" (peoplepill.com,3). Working at Print Magazine, Jessica Walsh discovered her own personal style and claims working at the magazine was one of her very best experiences.
Walsh's work consists of "branding, typography, website design, and art installations. Her signature style has been described as "bold, emotional, and provocative" with the occasional surrealistic flourish, and her art has been said to look "hand-made and at times quite darling" (Peoplepill.com,5). A couple of her clients include Adobe and Colab Eyewear and Levi's. Her ultimate dream was to run her own business, and thus, the creative studio "& Walsh" was born. One fun fact about Jessica Walsh is that she created "Ladies, Wine, and Design." This organization was meant to encourage women to work together. In a time when women are often competing against one another, "Ladies, Wine, and Design" is like a breath of fresh air.
Jessica Walsh has received awards such as New Star of Design, Computer Arts, 2010, Society of Publication Designers Award, 2010, New Visual Artist Award, Print Magazine, 2011, Type Directors Club Award, Les Arts Decoratifs poster, 2012, People to Watch, GD USA, 2013, and Webby Award, Best Home/Welcome Page, Sagmeister & Walsh, 2014.

Master Graphic Designer- Storm Thorgerson
Storm Thorgerson (1944-2013) is a master graphic designer, who is widely regarded for his album cover art. Thorgerson went to school with members of the band Pink Floyd and was friends with members of the band throughout his life. Perhaps Thorgerson's most well known work is the album covers he designed for Pink Floyd, especially their 1973 album, the Dark Side of the Moon. Other bands Thorgeson has designed album covers for include, AC/DC, the Police, Genesis, Paul McCartney, and many more. Thorgeson enjoyed working with photography, because he liked to play with reality. He once said this, "I like photography because it is a reality medium, unlike drawing which is unreal. I like to mess with reality ... to bend reality. Some of my works beg the question [sic] of is it real or not?." In 2013, Prog Magazine renamed its Grand Design Award after Thorgerson. It is now known as the Storm Thorgerson Grand Design Award and will be given to the designer of the year's best-packaged product.
